1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Use apply to Cost AI, a mobile application operated by Neo Schulz, Schleusenstraße 4, 16225 Eberswalde, Germany. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the app.

2. What Cost AI Does

Cost AI helps users understand spending habits by scanning or entering purchases, estimating product information, grouping purchases into habits, calculating projections, showing savings opportunities, and displaying insights over time.

Cost AI is a personal productivity and spending awareness tool. It is not a bank, financial institution, accounting service, investment advisor, tax advisor, or medical service.

3. Estimates and Projections

Cost AI provides estimates. Product recognition, price detection, receipt parsing, usage frequency, savings opportunities, monthly savings, yearly projections, and 10-year projections may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or inappropriate for your situation.

You are responsible for reviewing and correcting detected product names, categories, purchase types, prices, and usage assumptions before relying on them.

4. AI Features

AI-generated results may be wrong. Cost AI may misidentify products, misread receipts, estimate the wrong price, classify a purchase incorrectly, or generate unrealistic projections. You should treat AI output as a starting point, not as verified information.

Do not upload images containing sensitive personal information, payment card data, medical records, identity documents, or information about other people unless you understand the risks and have the right to do so.

5. Subscriptions

Cost AI may offer auto-renewable subscriptions through the Apple App Store. The current planned offer is Cost AI Pro for €4.99 per month with 30 scans per month. Free users receive 10 scans per month. The final price, scan limits, trial eligibility, and subscription conditions are shown in the app before purchase and may vary by country, currency, tax, or App Store configuration.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Payment is charged to your Apple ID. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple App Store account settings. Deleting the app does not automatically cancel a subscription.

Cost AI must provide a Restore Purchases option in the app where subscriptions are offered. Refunds are handled by Apple according to App Store policies.

Apple's Standard End User License Agreement applies to apps downloaded from the App Store unless a custom license is provided. See: Apple Standard EULA.

6. Scan Limits

Scan limits are used to manage usage and API costs. A scan may include product photo analysis, receipt analysis, image upload analysis, or other AI-based recognition requests. Scan counters may reset monthly. Failed scans, duplicate scans, or partially completed scans may still count depending on the technical implementation.

We may change scan limits, pricing, or feature access for future billing periods. If required by law or platform rules, changes will be communicated through the app or App Store listing.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• use Cost AI for illegal purposes;
• attempt to reverse engineer, overload, or abuse the app or API integrations;
• upload unlawful, harmful, private, or sensitive images that you do not have the right to process;
• use the app to track, identify, or profile other people;
• circumvent scan limits, subscription checks, or payment flows;
• use automated systems to generate excessive scans or API requests.

8. Health and Essential Purchases

Cost AI may provide savings suggestions. These suggestions are informational and should not be interpreted as health advice. You should not reduce essential purchases such as water, medication, health products, dental care, or nutrition solely because the app displays a potential cost saving. Your wellbeing is more important than app-generated savings estimates.

9. Availability and Changes

Cost AI may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. AI recognition depends on third-party services and internet connectivity. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, exact recognition, or permanent availability of any feature.

10. Disclaimer

Cost AI is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, availability, and non-infringement. Your use of the app is at your own risk.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost savings, loss of data, or decisions made based on app estimates. Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is not permitted by applicable law.

12. Termination

You may stop using Cost AI at any time. We may restrict access if the app is misused, legal obligations require it, or platform policies require changes.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection laws that may apply in your country of residence.
